The Banffshire Coast is well known for the number of castles and historic buidlings that it has to offer. We have hand picked just a few places that you may wish to visit below.
Duff House - Banff
Only 5 miles from Headiton - This is an impressive Georgian building that has recently been taken over by Historic Scotland. As well as the building, there is small playpark adjacent to the buidling along with some walks. It is open daily between April through to the end of October, then open Thursday to Sunday during the winter months of November through to March.

Delgatie Castle - near Turriff
11 miles from Headiton - As well as being an interesting castle to explore, this castle also has the Laird's Kitchen which we can personally recommend from experience. The castle is open daily between the hours of 10.00am through to 5.00pm, but does close for a couple of weeks over Christmas and New Year.

Slaines Castle - near Cruden Bay
37 miles from Headiton - This is an imposing ruined castle overlooking the North Sea. Access to the castle is along a shell based path but it is certainly worth the walk. More information and pictures can be found here http://www.undiscoveredscotland.co.uk/crudenbay/slainscastle/
